History of KP3R
Welcome back crypto heads to another stroll down memory lane. Usually, when the name Andre Cronje is mentioned, defi directly comes to mind. For those who have yet to discover who that man is, fear not he has been inactive for a good amount of time. Andre Cronje is considered the father of defi and yield farming. He has created several concepts that are the pillars on which innovators work. We will be highlighting one of his most notable contributions to the world of defi, KP3R.
The idea of KP3R came out of the blue on the 28th of October 2020. Cronje shed light upon his upcoming project in a mere medium post. Within the Keeper ecosystem, came the idea of a keeper token which is an ERC-20 utility token. These tokens denoted a sort of hierarchy within the project. The more you owned keeper tokens, the more notable you were in the ecosystem. There were several ways to obtain keeper tokens most notably through completing tasks and collecting tokens.
Due to Cronje’s immense popularity and status in the space, the price of a keeper token skyrocketed from 1$ to 27$ 40 minutes after the project was released. As word spread around the space, the token continued to witness an increase in value reaching an all-time high of $1,385 on the 11th of November 2021.
Now here the question is raised, what is KP3R? Simply put, KP3R was the ecosystem that held several of Cronje’s contributions to the space. First of which was Keeper forex. This section served as a bridge between the world of forex and the world of crypto. Through KP3R one you could bid on pairs such as JPY, CHF, and so forth with cryptocurrencies. The second was Keep3r Eden. Keep3r Eden is a rule set to order transactions within a block in a way that is fair and transparent. Third, came Keep3r wonderland Keep3r Wonderland. Also known as Defi wonderland, this section was an activist fund that provides capital and developmental support to protocol development projects.
